Maddie, you and I were family for a brief period of time, and close friends for 50 years. You were one of the funniest, craziest, most loyal, giving, welcoming, loving people I ever knew. You always put your family above everything, and you loved them fiercely. They meant everything to you and you would do anything for them. They were your world. Your friends were very special to you too, and you were always there for them. They could count on you no matter what they needed. You would always be the first one to help. I'm going to miss you so much. I'll miss the daily phone calls, all the times that we spent together over the years. We sure had plenty of fun! I will miss the wonderful Ladies Christmas Parties you had. They were the best! Hell, I'll just miss YOU! I hate having to say goodbye to you, so I'll just say I love you. Thanks for letting me be in your life. Rest In Peace until we meet again.

I was A.J.'s teacher when he was in school. Mrs. Monroe was always supportive of A.J. She was a kind and friendly person and a great mother. I am sad that Madeline is no longer with us. I will treasure the memory of her smiling face and gentle and helpful words.

My earliest memories of Maddie was when dad used to pile all of us kids in the old 65 chevy and we would journey from Consecon to Chuckrey Hill to visit her family.  The house was full of adults laughing and kids squealing in delight.  Junior and I (and eventually Sam, in subsequent years) would escape the havoc and head out to the fields to (pretend) drive the various cars that sat adjacent to the house.  Boy, we raced around for hours until Maddie or Ida would summon us back to indulge in a nice thick bologna sandwich or other much welcomed snack.  Boy, to be able to rewind the clock, eh?  Fast forward to years later when I was married and living and serving in Winnipeg; well Maddie would always keep in touch and would always let me know when she was passing through on her way out west, and we would meet up at the bus terminal during the stop over.  And even in recent years, we found ways to visit each other locally whenever possible.  I'll always cherish the moments that you were in my presence Maddie. I'm going to miss you dearly; especially our longer than usual phone call each year on our shared birthday.  You rest now Maddie. I love you and I'll see you again in time.
