So sad to hear of Uncle Merton's passing.  He will be sadly missed by all that loved him.  I recall so many wonderful memories as a child of Uncle Mert. He was a very kind and sweet man. I shall cherish these memories forever.  My thoughts and prayer's are with you all at this time. God bless you all.

Aunt Gerry and family,
Sorry to hear of Uncle Mert's passing.
Many fond memories of time spent with you, Mert and Doug up north at the trailer while he was working for McFarland's.
Patience was one of his strongest traits , I know because Doug and I tested it on many occasions. As an example - when Doug and I was around 12 years of age we decided to be lumber jacks for the day. We fetched two axes from the wood shed and headed to the woods behind the house. Mert arrived home when we were just falling our twelfth tree. Keep in mind that these were all good size trees, 30 plus feet high. Needless to say Uncle Mert was not impressed but asked us to never do it again. As he walked away I heard him say, ''looks like a herd of beaver came through''.
He may be gone but his memories will last forever.

Stephen, Roni Smith and family

My Grandfather - Poppa Craig, taught me patience, and the delivery of a good story...Many years I sat and listened to Poppa tell stories at the hunting camp. His stories were shared with my two sons Brock and Logan. We were so lucky to have him with all of us together at the hunting camp for generations.....
