Allen Burton Stanley

January 4, 1932-June 5, 2020

Our Dad passed away in the care of Hospice Prince Edward with his children at his side.

He was predeceased by his wife Maggie and his cherished son Paul. He will be greatly missed by his Brother Donald (Marlene) of Carlton Place, children Pam Stanley-Barnes (late Ronald) of Picton, Marty (Sharon) of Horton Alabama, Stuart (Maria) of Picton, Laurie of Nanaimo and his many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and his special friend Jean Fagan.

Although a Cabinet Maker by Trade, he spent many years as a furniture mover driving all across North America. He retired to Picton Ontario in 1997 and forged many strong relationships. He had the most enjoyment in being at his Trailer camping and partying with all his friends.

We would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Laura Arul, Dr. Graham Burke, all the staff at Prince Edward Memorial Hospital, all the staff at Hospice Prince Edward, and to the Manor on Loyalist Parkway and their great staff who made our dads last couple of months special even in these trying times.

Due to current restrictions, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when we can give him a send off he would appreciate. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to a charity or cause that has meaning to you in our dads memory.

Arrangements have been entrusted to our good friend Kate Sampson in care of Hicks Funeral Home, 2 Centre Street, Picton.

I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I bought his house by Lake on the Mountain from him in 2010. He was so kind and friendly. The day I moved in, he had left a bottle of wine, cups and a card congratulating me on my first home. I will never forget it. We would see each other from time to time around the County. My condolences to all of his family and friends.

We had the pleasure to get to spend 1 trailer season with Al,.
Al was a great man with so mich knowledge, and we enjoyed listening to his stories while having a cold beer.
Al although we didn't know you long it felt as if we'd known you for years, you definitely will be missed. Our sincerest condolences to Al's family.

I only knew Al a very short time but he made me feel like one of the family. Days when we were at the trailer alone we kept an eye out for each other and had many walks together. We always had cocktail hour before supper and Al would come out of his trailer and hold a Coors light in the air and holler over is it time and who's buying. Al always had a smile on his face and eager to help if he could. I will definitely miss my dance partner. Rest in Peace Al. You will always be in my heart.

I am so thankful I was able to see you a couple times before we moved west. I’m so glad you were able to see Alaira and Ethan again and meet Chris and Coen. I will always remember you and your Alabama accent. Knowing you I always assumed you tormented my mother with your humour. She told me it was Donnie who tormented her. Lol Love you Uncle Al, I wish we would’ve spent more time together but I’m thankful for the times we had. You will always have a place in my heart ❤️. Sending condolences and love to my extended family at this time, love you all and thinking of you during this difficult time. Please let me know if I can help in any way.

My sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of Allen Stanley. He was a dear friend to me for many years and I have many fond memories of Allen at the campground. We just seemed to hit it off and I enjoyed his humour and his company. I will miss my friend and will think of him often, especially around the campfire. He was a very special person who was kind and thoughtful and who loved to have fun. He will indeed by missed.
